Patrick Sanders (born August 27, 1985) is an American professional basketball player. He played for UC-Irvine.

Sanders arrived at UC-Irvine after averaging 17 points and 12 rebounds per game in high school. His freshman year saw him receive minimal playing time, with Sanders averaging 1.7 points and 1.6 rebounds per game. As a sophomore, he broke into the starting lineup in the second part of the year. He would go onto to start 19 of the final 20 games for the Anteaters.[1]
As a junior, he led the Anteaters in scoring and was named honorable mention All-Big West for an effort that saw him average 11.9 points and 1.6 blocks (ranking second in the league) per game. As a senior, he was named first-team All-Big West after leading the Anteaters with 15.8 points per game. He would finish sixth in the conference in scoring, third in three-point field goal percentage, sixth in field-goal percentage, and seventh in free-throw percentage.[2]
In Big West conference play Sanders ranked 4th in scoring at 17.8pts per game, 7th in field goal percentage shooting at .486, 4th in free throw percentage at .861, and 6th in 3-point percentage at .463.[3]
Despite finishing as the sixteenth-ranked scorer in school history, Sanders was not drafted out of college. He would sign with the local D-League franchise, the Los Angeles D-Fenders; however, he was traded to Iowa during training camp for D-League All-Star Dwayne Mitchell.[4]
In his rookie season with the Iowa Energy, Sanders played in 41 games and was a starter in 36 of those games. He averaged 13.9pts, 3.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists, while shooting .417 percent from the 3 point line, in 30.7 minutes of playing time per game. On January 22, 2009, he broke the Iowa Energy franchise scoring record by tallying 43pts and 5 rebounds in a double overtime victory against the Dakota Wizards. On February 16, 2009, he had a perfect shooting performance against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants inking 11-11 from the field for 29pts, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.[5][6][7] After one season in D-League Sanders, after recovering from injury that kept him out for 10 months, decided to go overseas and signed with EclipseJet MyGuide Amsterdam in January, 2010.[8] On July 30, 2010 Sanders signed with Latvian club BK VEF Rīga and played 11 games with the club in late 2010.[9]
On the 25th of November, 2010, Sanders was signed by the Sydney Kings of the Australian National Basketball League. He made his debut for the Kings on the 3rd of December, 2010, playing 34 minutes and scoring 13 points.
